(i) "And they came with [the wind], scurrying and skittering, like yellow leaves and old newspapers, from a thousand places and from none at all."
- Neil Gaiman, The Sandman: The Doll's House (New York, 1995), p. 140.
Comment: style-wise, Bradburyesque?
(ii) "Living Bodies" (earlier post) revisited: in The Sandman: A Game Of You (New York, 1993), Barbie's body lies unconscious while Barbie herself, her soul, is in her dreamworld, the Land, but when three other women travel the Moon's road to join her there, their bodies disappear from the apartment room in New York.
So, in the Dreaming, we see her soul but their bodies but no one seems to be aware of this? A similar situation occurs when two of the women meet Death in the second Death miniseries. I think that the metaphysics becomes a bit confused at these points.
