Although I recognize Alan Moore's
Miracleman as the ultimate culmination of a superheroic lineage from Superman through the original Captain Marvel and Mick Anglo's Marvelman, I now accept the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Captain Marvel as a spectacular addition to that tradition. Like MM, CM is a human being enhanced by alien technology.
Whereas Miracleman starts in Thatcher's Britain and changes the world, this Captain Marvel starts in 1995 and pivotally affects the MCU. She is not in the same league as Miracleman but no one is, not even Doctor Manhattan who is an adaptation of Captain Atom.
